We asked Vanstone Building & Consultancy to design and build a large extension to our property, to give us a spacious new kitchen and dining area at the rear of our house. We were extremely pleased with the results.
What was unique about VBC was that they offered a complete service, starting with our not very refined ideas and then drawing up plans which expressed what we said. VBC joined up the jigsaw of our thoughts to build a beautiful new space. From the first meeting to the end of the building work we were always told about the implications of our choices and how this would affect the final costs.
When the building work started the team were friendly, thoughtful and tidy. They were very easy to work with, made suggestions, didn’t complain when we changed our minds and were as non-intrusive as they could be. The project manager, Neil Vanstone, was always on call and advised on further decisions which came up during the building work.
We would wholeheartedly recommend VBC. They offer a complete, highly professional service and were a delight to have in our house for the duration of the building work. If the opportunity arose we would happily work with them again.

I have used VBC in 2018 and in 2017 and have no hesitation in recommending this company. The work done in 2017 was quite disruptive within the confines of a small cottage, but the team did an excellent job and kept the mess to a minimum, throughout the work photographs were taken at each stage so that I could see the progress achieved. This year I have had more work carried out to more than my satisfaction. Neil is a thorough evaluator of works to be carried out and estimates did not over exceed, also he is knowledgeable and pleasant to deal with. As I live on my own I valued his opinion and advice and didn’t feel patronised. His team are experienced and again follow Neil’s lead in that they are pleasant to have around which is important when having a work force in your home. I found them to be very competent and will not hesitate in using them again.

Neil and his team are a pleasure to be on site. They tidy up the area constantly and are fun respectful and exceptionally hardworking.
In what way or ways did we make it easy for you to do business with us?
Neil is very flexible in his approach as he understands that at the outset not everyone is 100% clear in every detail of the project. His communication skills are first class keeping us constantly updated on the project.
Would you recommend VBC to others, and if so, why?
Yes we already have! I am often reluctant to make recommendations in this area but would always do so with Neil as I have total confidence that the job will be completed to the total satisfaction of the client.
Should the opportunity arise, would you use our services again?
Yes we already have on two major projects and a number of smaller jobs.
